Olive oil is excellent as a base oil in soaps, either in whole (Castile soap) or in part. Olive Oil prevents the loss of your skin's natural moisture, softens skin and attracts external moisture to your skin. It helps keeps your skin soft, supple and younger looking
Palm oil makes a hard bar that cleans well and is also mild. The quality of Palm oil is far superior to other vegetable oils that are filler oils. Palm oil is universal and used in many expensive luxury soaps.
We source responsible and sustainable palm oil.
Macadamia nut oil is excellent for intensive skin care and makes a good massage oil, for normal and sensitive skin. Sweet, nutty smelling oil, rich in unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin A & E. Rich in essential fatty acids, lecithin, vitamins and vital substances.This fat also contains omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids which help the skin do its job as a water barrier for our bodies. Our macadamia nut oil is locally pressed from locally grown nuts on the Hamakua Coast of the Big Island.
A fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. It is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, salve or lotion.
Shea butter melts at body temperature and absorbs rapidly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. High in vitamin and mineral content. Known to benefit dry skin. The moisturizers in Shea Butter are the same moisturizers produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin. Contains Vitamin A and Vitamin E. We source organic Shea butter.
Coconut oil makes soaps lather beautifully but can be drying when it makes up a large portion of your soap's fats. We use it with other oils at no more than 30% of total oils. It will make a very hard, white bar of soap with abundant lather. It even lathers in very hard water or even sea water. We source organic and sustainable coconut oil.
From the kukui (candlenut) tree. Brought to Hawaii from Asia by the early Polynesians settlers. The tree has so much significance to Hawaiian culture, that it is the state tree. For hundreds of years, Hawaiians have used kukui nut oil for its moisturizing benefits. Rich with vitamins A, C, E, omega 9, omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids. Kukui nut oil is full of antioxidants. We use only Hawaiian oil.
Has been called the ultimate moisturizer, and has been used to keep skin soft and supple for centuries. It is one of the most stable, highly concentrated natural fats known, and melts at body temperature so that it is readily absorbed into the skin. Cocoa butter is often recommended for treatment of skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. When applied topically, it creates a barrier between sensitive skin and the environment and also helps retain moisture.
Avocado oil is a great moisturizer. It contains vitamins A, D, and E, which makes it healing as well as moisturizing.

Antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. Thanks to its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, Neem is a boon for people with sensitive or oily, acne prone skin.
Rich in Vitamin C. Neem contains immune-stimulating compounds and regenerative properties that help the skin to fight pathogens below the skin surface thus keeping it supple. Applying neem oil on your face helps in soothing the skin and reducing the effects of aging. Neem leaves from our own farm.
Sweet smelling beeswax makes a harder bar of soap and is also used in creams, lotions and lip balms. Beeswax contains the natural healing properties of honey. Dry, rough skin may benefit from creams, lotions or soaps that contain beeswax. When added to skin care products, beeswax acts as an emollient and an humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and sealing it in, while still allowing the skin to breathe. Beeswax contains vitamin A, which may be beneficial in softening and rehydrating dry skin.

We use both fresh avocadoes and avocado oil in our soaps. It is high in sterolins, which are reputed to reduce age spots, help heal sun damage and scars. It is the sterolins (also called plant steroids) in the oil that helps to soften the skin and imparts a superior moisturizing effect. Avocado oil is easily absorbed into deep tissue, and with its wonderfully emollient properties, makes it ideal for mature skins. We use our own organically grown fruit.
Oats have an incredible attraction to water therefore drawing and holding moisture to the skin. Fine ground oatmeal has exfollaint properties and it will adhere to what is irritating your skin and thereby can be washed away with the soap. Oats are a natural skin protectant even recognized by the Food and Drug Administration for these properties.
We use our own Aloe Vera in our soaps. It's a well known healing and soothing agent for damaged, dry skin. It is soothing and healing for burns and skin irritations as well.
Sea salts have many benefits for the skin. Not only do they draw toxins out of the body and reduce inflammation, but they also contain many skin nourishing minerals such as magnesium, zinc, calcium, potassium and iodine. This powerful combination of minerals will help relax the muscles and skin, while increasing blood circulation. Contrary to what many people think, salt soaps are not drying. Sea salt is great for healing skin tissue and replenishing hydration.
Hawaiian Clay is widely known for its healing power. It is composed of over 80 separate minerals and is rich in iron oxide. This water-soluble red clay, mixed with sea salt, was a soothing salve in ancient Hawaiian medicine.

Provides a gentle exfoliation. High in
essential fatty acids.
Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich. Coffee grounds are scrubby and exfoliating. We use our own organically grown coffee in our soaps and scrubs.
Honey is a humectant, so it helps retain moisture on the skin in much the same way as glycerin. We use raw, unfiltered local honey.
